Food Hunt

Between our orientation, we had a food hunt. This activity is to introduce some so-called nice food in Singapore which is recommended to students like us. At first, we had a stop for chicken rice. It is quite terrible because we actually had just had our breakfast.

We had a small walk before reaching there and that is the chicken rice we had. The rice are quite different from Malaysia because - obviously, they cared too much about health and put in a little amount of butter. So, the taste of the rice ended between a plain rice and Malaysian rice. The chicken is just usual chicken, but I think they cooked it in some other method, because the feel of chewing it is slightly different.

Ken Juin's commentating on the Chicken rice had clearly draw one of the other hawker's attention and that auntie had offered our group an extra amount of curry. Truly speaking, that curry has nothing same as Malaysia's... *shh*... not too good to comment about it here.

Then we had our Duck Rice as well. The difference of this rice is the rice is actually yam rice. We use plain rice in Malaysia...

One thing you can enjoy is the Sugarcane Juice in Singapore. It truly is a thirst quencher for the weather in Singapore. They even had the mixture of lemon and sugarcane, which is quite a good drink. You can see Wendy and Dinaesh enjoyed the drinks very much. And they also sell bananas - ripen...

And we also had some Laksa. Penang kia, do get use to this kind of Laksa - although it looks like curry in Penang. And we also had some grass jelly. The grass jelly is also one thing that is cooling for the trip... And besides, you can see Geri pointing about the way for another station (don't worry, she's not leading us to eat the grass patch). Wendy is looking around as she follows the team. Wen Qing, hunting for views for photos... And we got to pass some shops and trees...

Along the way, you can see the expressions of KEWOC and Fresh KEVIIANS. Well, most of them are quite cheerful... some busy... some doubting... some...

Someone ordered this...

Besides, you can see birds along the floor...

Okay, back to the food. They had Rojak and Otak-otak mainly... Some of them had nasi lemak as well...

After that, we walked to the bus stop for the next station. And it is really glad to see those KEWOC checking the board to ensure we didn't have to end up sleeping somewhere... And this is also the time when our photographer - a.k.a. photograph and graphics provider: Wen Qing snapped some of their photos.

Picture: (top left) KEWOC checking the board for buses, (top right) Fang Chee and Hui Ning; and (bottom) Hui Ning laughing... I don't recall what made her laugh like that...

At last, we stopped at a BEANY shop where they sell soya bean products such as juice, beancurd and all... with you zha gui and ham jing peng... We had quite a number of people, so we have to squeeze to some table behind the shop. To go there, we did pass through somewhere like store room...

n590130718_1237777_3604 n590130718_1237778_4222

We squeezed into tables... And we can see someone skinning the fish...

n590130718_1237780_4972 n590130718_1237781_5710

There are also kittens in a cage...

n590130718_1237782_6167 n590130718_1237783_6533

And this is the real thing we ate...

n590130718_1237784_6890

After that, we started to head back to UP UP KE HALL!!!

n590130718_1237786_7748n590130718_1237775_2808n590130718_1237776_3157

That day is quite sunny, so people started to show off their umbrellas...
