Tea Party (Not the Tea Party You Might Thought)

Yes, Tea Party! This was taken when I went back for vacation as well. One thing I had always looked forward to when I get back home was to have tea. Tea time could be spend by having some tea at home, when Mummy will get us tea, or we create our own tea – and sometimes, this was accompanied by cookies or snacks. But of course, if you went for a tea house, it would be nice too! I particularly like it when there’s no one in the tea house because I will have the whole evening there, having tea and even cakes. Some do like scones but I’m not a huge fan of it. I preferred cakes, of course. Winter Warmer was one of the destination we would go if we wanted some tea or we just need a late lunch. The sandwiches there is superb and of course they have the environment – though it could be messy sometimes when it was peak hour…

Having tea was always there – but my observation towards teapots and teacups were a more recent activities – maybe around three years back. Some of the teacups were delicately designed to formed shapes as you pour in your tea, like the heart shape. Some teacups are simple with printed designs and some were really decorated. It’s interesting how much you could explore if you are really into Tea.

All in all, nothing beats drinking tea and having a good time with your family. Because other than treating your GIS with these food, you talked, joked, updated each other. You sit on comfortable chairs and started to look out into the sunny sky, feeling the relaxation. Sometimes, I would bring along a book or two and just spend time in there. It’s like in coffee shop, just that you are with the tea… And Papa and Mummy might exchange interesting news which could be really funny sometimes. Nowadays, when people started to have phones and droids and whatever, people tend to eat while facing their phone, pressing along the way. I think having tea this way, is really an art that not much people might find themselves have a chance. For that, I look forward to more tea the next time I return home.

For your information, I always wished I would one day have a sun room myself and have a tea…

Trying Something New in Sakae

This is really something happened really, really long time back then. It was one of the holidays when I went back home. I don’t know why but going back home had been many times associated with food. And the food I mentioned, was not just local food but it does sometimes include many really nice food or even really bad food which we discovered together, as a family. I would say, having this meal in Sakae actually meant something to me.

My taste buds were always the one who lead the trend in the family. For example, we had our first taste of Pizza Hut when I was around six. At that time, the whole family did not like the taste except me, who gobbled the whole thing. The whole family didn’t step into that outlet since then, until when I was in secondary school and we started to accept the taste and even liked pizza. Same as that, my parents weren’t a great fan of Japanese and Korean food. And it was recently, with Korean dramas airing in the air, Mummy did tried Korean food and we had been visiting Korean cuisine outlet for some times. Sakae, for all this times, were the outlet I went with my friends or with my brother. I guess, partly due to her trying Japanese food after Korean, or partly because I went for study leaving her to accompany my brother to that outlet – the result now is that she actually eats Japanese food. And that’s when it’s not just these food, but also sushi. To think back, this actually made me thought of the evolution of the taste of the family along the time.

This photo was taken for the time when, yes you heard it right, my Mummy suggested to eat in Sakae. I was quite surprised as normally she wouldn’t suggest the place, even though she did eat there. I am very grateful as I take it as her wishing to let me eat something I like. This is very kind of her. As a matter of fact, the meal turned out to be another surprised as I don’t usually order sets like this (photo) because it is just quite expensive. Usually, I would just have a green tea and pick out some of the small dish of sushi to fill my tummy. Mummy then suggested why not I try the sets. I was, of course, delighted. I felt, all of sudden, being so touched and nothing could explain what I felt. The set is really a big portion. The taste is nonetheless good. Of course I wouldn’t know how does a original taste like, but this meal suits my taste. The soup, especially, is my favourite. Octopus is just not my cup of tea but the rest are really good!

To me, how does this meal taste is merely the surface meaning. What reminds me most, was how excited and grateful I was to this meal. I thank my parents for loving me so much!

Dragon-i with Family

This is yet another trip with my family. This time, Pleasure was not here because he was busy doing something else (this sentence doesn't bring any meaning). The point is, we get to eat nice food! We went to Queensbay Mall and went to Dragon-i. I think we were late for lunch, that's why we never need to queue up  for the seats. The place were quite busy though. We ordered Xiao Long Bao, of course and with other dishes. Mainly it was Mummy who ordered since I have no idea what to have except Xiao Long Bao, haha!

And this is the rather cold chicken. It's interestingly spiced up but too bad, due to its coldness, my parents were not too fond of it. They were just too used to warm Chinese food :)!

I had this dessert. I liked the coldness, but thing is I was too full at that time and I didn't manage to finish that  item in the end. That's really sad...

The food here were quite nice and it looked rather good in environment as well. Though, if you prefer hawker and local cooked food, then there is a certain different between the both. I would say they held each's advantage. That's why, we as the consumer will get the best deal by getting to choose or alternate between different style of cooking...
